3DTV Distribution

It’s no question that 3DTV will be a key focus yet again at CEDIA 2010. For this reason, the engineers at CE labs have been hard at work testing their distribution equipment on multiple 3DTV displays for the past year.

CE labs will be at CEDIA 2010 ready to show off the true power of their distribution products. CE labs will feature an exhilarating 3DTV booth in which they will display their Audio Video Distribution equipment passing 3D signal flawlessly. They will have several products at their booth including the HM6EK-3 which is capable of extending the transmission distance up to 65ft (20m) for full, deep-color applications and 98ft (30m) for standard 1080p applications. They will also have the ever popular HA8-3 and HA4-3 on display, which are capable of distributing one 3DTV source to multiple 3DTV displays.

Eric McCready, Vice President of Sales, as well as multiple CE labs team members, will be available to answer any 3DTV distribution questions you may have.

CEDIA is scheduled for September 22-26, 2010 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. If you plan on attending CEDIA stop by and visit with us at the CE labs booth (#1536).

Get Rid of Static Displays Once and For All!
Written by Jason Merchant

Garland, TX - May 10-13, 2010

FMI FMIFMI

Madix featured a special Annie’s Homegrown shelving unit at FMI 2010. This shelving unit was built with Madix shelving equipment and CE labs all-in-one media player. The content for the shelving unit was created by CE labs content creation division, The Weird Box.

The shelving unit features GPIO push-buttons, which allow the consumer to be in control of the specific products he or she is interested in. This is great for all parties involved by providing the consumer with an entertaining way to learn about particular products. The featured product gets a unique branding opportunity and the retailer has a new way to sell products more effectively.

This is not the first dynamic display Madix and CE labs have teamed up to create; and from the success of our other units, we can definitely tell that static displays are soon to be a thing of the past. For more information on custom shelving, visit Madix Inc. For more information on custom content creation visit The Weird Box.

CE labs®/Cable Electronics, Inc. Returns From GlobalShop Expo
Written by Tony Smith

Garland, TX - March 16, 2010

This year at the GlobalShop Expo in Las Vegas, NV, CE labs® and Madix™ Inc. shared a booth at the front of the conference. This highly visible location allowed our company to cross paths with many different businesses. 2010 boasted higher attendance and diversity over last year's conference, from specialty to big box retailers. Showcased was the MP500 ultra high definition digital media player with a 6-button GPIO interface, as well as HDMI™ distribution hardware designed to fit into Madix’s TV fixtures. The booth featured a TV display wall, framed by Madix, and video content, sourced by CE labs’ media player. We received greater attention this year due to our prime location and we also experienced the increase in market interest. Companies were more receptive because of the evolving market place and the rise in need for digital media.

Mike Shaw, Vice President of National Accounts, ”There was high optimism and excitement of expanding because the economy is rebounding. Retailers are spending money again.”

This year's attendees were much more open and interested in the opportunities that digital signage could bring to their existing business marketing strategies. We are confident in our ability to serve the growing interest in HDMI™ and digital signage solutions.

CE labs establishes Dedicated Digital Signage Content Creation Division

• Underlines importance of content creation in the digital signage industry

• Recognizes digital signage is a completely different medium from TV, print and the web, and therefore requires specially-made content

Garland, Texas, Jan. 27, 2010 -- CE labs, a top manufacturer of pro-grade audio and video products and digital signage systems, announced today the establishment of a dedicated digital signage content creation division called The Weird Box, signaling the importance that content creation is having on the development of the digital signage industry.

Eric McCready, Vice President of Sales, said "Digital signage can be a dynamic and inspiring place for designers with its diverse mix of styles, approaches and applications. This new studio will help us further develop our understanding of this vibrant industry and to work more closely with extremely talented designers. Reflecting CE labs’ status as one of the hottest companies for digital signage right now I expect this cutting-edge studio to influence not only our thinking on new design trends and ideas for our hardware, but also for many digital signage system applications."

Using the latest video and motion graphics software, The Weird Box will have a range of content creation packages and themes including repurposing of print collateral into rich, animated digital content, custom branded digital signage templates and playlist management services. Run by a compact, committed team of designers working with established CE labs engineers, it will also be a key component for CE labs' digital signage systems.

Creative Director, Tony Smith said, "CE labs’ investment in this innovative design studio reflects the importance of digital signage content creation and the role it plays in a successful digital signage campaign. This studio gives talented designers the opportunity to work with a new industry that is still discovering itself. The digital signage industry is growing at an accelerated pace and will be a huge opportunity for designers to set this medium apart from broadcast, print and web. "

The Weird Box studio is part of CE labs’ ongoing investment in digital signage. In late 2009, CE labs forged a partnership with Reflect Systems, Inc announcing media appliance support for digital signage and out-of-home media networks. CE labs has grown to become a complete digital signage turn-key solution offering high definition digital media players, content management software, and now, dedicated digital signage content creation.

The Weird Box is available now for dedicated digital signage content creation services.  Visit www.theweirdbox.com for more information.
